Synopsis via Goodreads: Can you fall in love with someone you’ve never even met?

Hailey Taylor Emery has a hunch that her favorite client at Fetch—an anonymous virtual assistant service—is actually hockey star Matt Eriksson.

Although it’s against the rules for her to check his file, she’s 95% sure she spends at least part of each day texting with her lifelong crush and catering to his every need. Still nursing a wounded heart thanks to her recent breakup, Hailey is perfectly content with some harmless online flirting… until she has to meet her client. Face to face. Cue: utter panic.

Matt Eriksson is no stranger to heartbreak. He’s still not over the destruction of his marriage, and it sucks to be the only guy on the team who knows the truth—that hockey and long-term relationships are a toxic mix. He barely sees his kids, and dealing with his ex makes him feel insane. The only person in his life who seems to understand is someone who won’t show her pretty face.

But it’s nothing that a pair of fourth row hockey seats can’t fix. Hailey can’t resist the offer. Matt can’t resist Hailey. Good thing he doesn’t have to. Fire up the kiss cam!

Synopsis via Goodreads: She’s good at achieving her goals…

Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesn’t include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all she’s willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.

But the game just got a whole lot more complicated

Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, he’s fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesn’t hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrina’s heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, he’ll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

Synopsis via Goodreads: Can your favorite hockey players finish their first season together undefeated?

Five months in, NHL forward Ryan Wesley is having a record-breaking rookie season. He’s living his dream of playing pro hockey and coming home every night to the man he loves—Jamie Canning, his longtime best friend turned boyfriend. There’s just one problem: the most important relationship of his life is one he needs to keep hidden, or else face a media storm that will eclipse his success on the ice.

Jamie loves Wes. He really, truly does. But hiding sucks. It’s not the life Jamie envisioned for himself, and the strain of keeping their secret is taking its toll. It doesn’t help that his new job isn’t going as smoothly as he’d hoped, but he knows he can power through it as long as he has Wes. At least apartment 10B is their retreat, where they can always be themselves.

Or can they?

When Wes’s nosiest teammate moves in upstairs, the threads of their carefully woven lie begin to unravel. With the outside world determined to take its best shot at them, can Wes and Jamie develop major-league relationship skills on the fly?

Warning: contains sexual situations, a vibrating chair, long-distance sexytimes and proof that hockey players look hot in any shade of green.

Us is the second installment in the Him series and it is the continuation of Ryan and Jamie’s story. Ryan and Jamie are currently living in Toronto and things seem to be going well, for the most part. Ryan is making a name for himself in the NHL, scoring goals left and right, while Jamie is adjusting to life off the ice with his new coaching position. These two have come a long way, but it’s not too long until there is trouble in paradise. Ryan is keeping his relationship with Jamie under wraps, hoping to avoid the media and the frenzy that will arise once people find out that he is gay hockey player. Ryan promises Jamie that once the season is over, they will no longer have to hide from the outside world. The only problem: trying to make it through the season in the first place.

“Love is friendship set in fire.”

The second installment in the Him series was even better than the first and I have completely fallen head over heels for Jamie and Ryan’s story. I love them to bits and I can’t get enough. Who knew I needed more M/M hockey romances in my life?!

While Him was about falling in love, Us was about fighting for love. Fighting to stay together. Fighting for acceptance. Fighting for a chance at a happily ever after. There are a number of conflicts that arise within Jamie and Ryan’s relationship and they try their best to overcome them together. One of the first major issue is with secrecy and the fact that Ryan does not want to publicly come out of the closet just yet. He wants to be known for his talented skills on the ice and not for being the first gay hockey player in the NHL. While Jamie agrees to go along with the plan, it is not long until he gets cabin fever and grows tired of being Ryan’s secret. I liked the fact that the stigma of being gay and an athlete was tackled in this book because it sucks in the first place that there is STILL a stigma! There was also the issue of using gay slurs as ‘motivation’ and that was tackled as well showing that this type of behavior is actually harmful, even if that was not one’s intention in the first place. WELL DONE on the LGBT front!

Our characters, Jamie and Ryan, also have their own personal issues that they are both trying to deal with. Jamie is not happy with his current job situation and it leads to him becoming depressed and angry, lashing out at Ryan and causing a rift in their relationship. Ryan is also coming to terms with the fact that his parents will never accept his sexual identity and him cutting ties with them. All these issues put a strain on Jamie and Ryan’s relationship as a whole and while in the previous book the romance was more fluffy and sweet, here there was more of a serious tone and it was heartbreaking. ICEBERGS WERE COMING OUT OF NOWHERE THREATENING THE STABILITY OF MY SHIP! WHY?!

“But in the back of my mind, I’m wondering where I belong. Or rather, where I’ll end up. Wes is my home. He’s my heart. But he can’t be my everything.”

Now onto the more happier things, SECONDARY CHARACTERS. Secondary characters played an important role in this book, the first one being Blake, who I had a love/hate relationship. I wanted to stab in during the first half of the book because he was ALWAYS getting in the way and showing up at the worst times. But he ended up surprising me and I grew to like him. He accepted Jamie and Ryan relationships, no question asked and became the honorary third wheel. I also NEED Blake and Jess’s book ASAP!!! Those two make an interesting pair and I can’t wait to see how things turn out for them.

We also have the Canning Clan, my FAVORITE FAMILY EVER! I LOVED Jamie’s mom and the fact that she took Ryan in as her own. When Ryan called her ‘Mom’, I DIED INSIDE. It just goes to show that family does not always need to be blood related.

“But I chose happiness over other people’s skewed opinions and cruel judgments. I chose Wes.”

I really can’t RAVE about this book enough and my streak of 5 star M/M romances is still GOING STRONG! I am ready for wedding bells. Get ready to pop lots of champagne because this is going to be one hell of a wedding!

Him by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy

“Jamie Canning was my first crush and my first love. But he was never mine to have.” – Ryan, Him

Title: Him
Author: Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy
Series: Him
Publication Date: July 28, 2015

Synopsis via Goodreads: They don’t play for the same team. Or do they?

Jamie Canning has never been able to figure out how he lost his closest friend. Four years ago, his tattooed, wise-cracking, rule-breaking roommate cut him off without an explanation. So what if things got a little weird on the last night of hockey camp the summer they were eighteen? It was just a little drunken foolishness. Nobody died.

Ryan Wesley’s biggest regret is coaxing his very straight friend into a bet that pushed the boundaries of their relationship. Now, with their college teams set to face off at the national championship, he’ll finally get a chance to apologize. But all it takes is one look at his longtime crush, and the ache is stronger than ever.

Jamie has waited a long time for answers, but walks away with only more questions—can one night of sex ruin a friendship? If not, how about six more weeks of it? When Wesley turns up to coach alongside Jamie for one more hot summer at camp, Jamie has a few things to discover about his old friend…and a big one to learn about himself.

Warning: contains sexual situations, skinnydipping, shenanigans in an SUV and proof that coming out to your family on social media is a dicey proposition.

Ryan Wesley and Jamie Canning were once best friends who first met at a summer hockey program in Lake Placid. They are both star-athletes, with their eyes set on playing for the big leagues. But during the summer before they started college, boundaries were crossed, forever changing their relationship, turning friends into strangers. Now, both Ryan and Jamie are back at the same summer hockey program as counselors and Jamie is determined to know why Ryan shut him out for all these years. What he learns could either bring these two closer together, or it could push them farther apart with no hope of them ever rebuilding their friendship.

“This is a very dangerous game we’re playing. It will probably end in disaster. But if there’s anyway I can prevent that, I will.”

If I haven’t said it enough on my blog, I’ll say it again: M/M ROMANCE IS MY FAVORITE ROMANCE OF ALL THE ROMANCES AND I SIMPLY CAN’T GET ENOUGH! I was in a bit of a rut last week and I needed a pick me up so I started Him on a whim and it was the:

because I LOVED THIS BOOK! I want to shout into the void that Ryan and Jamie are my new FAVORITE OTP! Okay, let me stop gushing and get into the review.

First off, the writing was great! It was entertaining and addicting making it so hard for me to put this book down. Male POVs are my favorite to read because of their bluntness and our two MCs were not shy about saying what they wanted. I also liked the LGBT aspect of this book and the way it was handled. I was not expecting Jamie to be bisexual and it was refreshing because I’ve had a hard time finding MCs who identify as bisexual in novels. I enjoyed seeing Jamie become comfortable with his own sexuality and also enjoyed seeing others accept his decision to be in a relationship with Ryan. This  also created a bit of conflict because Ryan was always doubting if he would ever be good enough for Jamie, but eventually learned that he could be EVERYTHING AND MORE to Jamie! PLEASE, WE NEED MORE BISEXUAL MCs!

“I hold him as close as I dare. Even if my entire life goes to shit before breakfast tomorrow, I’ll always have this night.”

I am in love with both Jamie and Ryan. Ryan was funny and had an ego, but I loved the fact that Jamie always managed to pull him back down to earth. Jamie was a sweetheart and understanding. I thought that Ryan being gay would’ve pushed these two apart, but it brought them even closer than before. Every time I thought Jamie was going to run for the hills, he didn’t and it was Ryan who ended up doing most of the running. Jamie fought for these two and I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow into something so much more. BFF TO LOVERS FTW!

The romance was HOT AS HELL! Yes, if you have an issue with sex in novels, then stay clear because there are LOTS of fun and sexy times in this book. I also can never look at purple skittles the same way anymore and I honestly don’t think that that is even a bad thing.

“My weakness is him.”

I swear, Elle Kennedy can do NO WRONG when it comes to writing books and I have instantly become a fan of Sarina Bowen’s writing and I plan to binge read all her books soon. After finishing Him, I immediately started Us, but I will save the gushing and fangirling for my review. I HIGHLY recommend checking out this book if you’re looking for a fun and entertaining M/M romance. PLEASE READ!!

Synopsis via Goodreads: He knows how to score, on and off the ice

Allie Hayes is in crisis mode. With graduation looming, she still doesn’t have the first clue about what she’s going to do after college. To make matters worse, she’s nursing a broken heart thanks to the end of her longtime relationship. Wild rebound sex is definitely not the solution to her problems, but gorgeous hockey star Dean Di-Laurentis is impossible to resist. Just once, though, because even if her future is uncertain, it sure as heck won’t include the king of one-night stands.

It’ll take more than flashy moves to win her over.

Dean always gets what he wants. Girls, grades, girls, recognition, girls…he’s a ladies man, all right, and he’s yet to meet a woman who’s immune to his charms. Until Allie. For one night, the feisty blonde rocked his entire world—and now she wants to be friends? Nope. It’s not over until he says it’s over. Dean is in full-on pursuit, but when life-rocking changes strike, he starts to wonder if maybe it’s time to stop focusing on scoring…and shoot for love.

Shenanigans. Shenanigans everywhere!

The Off-Campus series has now OFFICIALLY made it onto my list of FAVORITE series! These characters are awesome, the writing is addicting, and there are shenanigans EVERYWHERE! What more could I possibly ask for? The Score has to be my favorite book in this series so far, although Logan and Grace are still my favorite couple. It was a good time all around and the ending totally caught me off guard. More, I NEED MORE!

Dean Di-Laurentis: With major skills both on the ice and in the bedroom, Dean knows how to score on both playing fields. He’s not one to be tied down, but that all changes after a night of one too many shots and a girl with a broken heart.

Allie Hayes: After a brutal break-up with her long-time boyfriend, Sean, Allie is ready to move forward and focus on her acting career. And the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else.

Now Dean is breaking all his rules for just one more night with Allie. The only problem is Allie is not willing to take the risk if it means getting hurt again.

The third installment in the Off-Campus series was full of shenanigans and good times. This book was probably the funniest so far and I could not stop laughing. Dean surprised me in this book because with him being such a manwhore, I wasn’t expecting him to be the one to pursue Allie. He was VERY persistent with his numerous texts and pleading and I have to applaud him for not giving up.

There were also some serious moments in this book. We learn about Dean’s past and the reason for why he is so hesitant to be in a relationship. The whole conflict between Dean and his Coach was messed up and the Coach’s actions were totally uncalled for! Dean also faces an unexpected loss and I didn’t even see that coming. Out of NOWHERE. That brought me to tears.

Allie is also dealing with her own issues. Between a crazy ex-boyfriend and a father who is struggling with MS, Allie doesn’t really have much time to focus on her own self. She wants to make it big in Hollywood, but not if it means having to take roles that don’t highlight her true potential. I felt like this book focused more on the character’s struggles and the romance, while it was steamy and wild, I felt that it took a backseat at times and I think that’s why I enjoyed this book so much.

Allie and Dean together were HOT. Those two took it to a whole new level when it came to sexy time. The addition of Winston was the BEST! Winston + Little Dean = HOT AS HELL GOOD TIMES!

Aside from the sexual chemistry between Allie and Dean, I really liked the way this romance developed. It wasn’t rushed since both of them had insecurities when it came to being in a relationship. But honestly, I was not expecting Dean to be as caring as he was in this book. My FAVORITE scene with these two has to be the night Dean goes to Allie after Sean shows up drunk at her dorm after finding out about Allie and Dean hooking up. That was the moment I became completely invested in this relationship and I was rooting for these two to find a way to overcome their insecurities and be happy together.

The ending was a COMPLETE SHOCKER for me! I didn’t even see that coming. Like how and when did that happen? I need Tucker’s story NOW so I can see where this series is headed. It’s always the quiet ones that end up surprising us the most!

We have another winner!

I swear, the Off-Campus series has to be one of the most ADDICTIVE New Adult series I have ever read. Once I start, I can’t stop and these books tend to keep me up until the wee hours of the morning! I have to say, I enjoyed the second installment even more than the first. Logan and Grace just gave me so much FEELS! It’s FANGIRL review time!1John Logan: Logan has got a crush on Hannah Wells. The only problem is that she’s already in a relationship with someone else, and that someone also happens to be Logan’s best friend and Captain of the hockey team, Garrett Graham.

Grace Ivers: With her uncontrollable babbling and girl-next-door quirkiness, Grace has no idea what’s in store for her when a John Logan accidentally finds himself outside her dorm room.

Logan thinks he’s found the perfect distraction when he meets Grace, but when she finds out about his little crush, she kicks him to the curb. Logan realizes that he was not crushing on Hannah, but rather he wanted a relationship like Hannah and Garrett’s. Hoping to fix his mistake, Logan attempts to get Grace back. But she’s not making it easy and if he wants a second chance, he’s going to have to work for it.2This book was just as hilarious as the first, but it also had a touch of sweetness that melted my heart!

When I first started this book and saw that Logan was having feelings for Hannah, I was a little worried. PLEASE, NO LOVE TRIANGLES. But thankfully, that trope was nipped in the bud really quick.

LOGAN IS MINE! HANDS OFF! Logan’s POV has been my favorite so far because of everything he’s dealing with. Just a small town boy trying to make it to graduation, Logan doesn’t have much hope for a bright future as he is expected to take over the family business once he graduates. His father is a raging alcoholic who only cares about his own needs and my heart went out to Logan. He has so much potential to make it as a professional hockey player, yet he puts his own dreams aside to help out his family. He could’ve been selfish and honestly, I wish he would’ve been because he deserved so much more than just working at his father mechanic shop. He may be a player, but this guy has a heart and it’s a BIG ONE

We also get to see more of the gang in this book and like I said before, it is NEVER a dull moment when they all get together. I also love that Hannah and Grace have also joined in on the fun. More friends, means more shenanigans, which means more laugh out loud moments!

These two were ADORABLE. Grace reminds me so much of myself when I was in high school. I loved her nervous rambling. I also loved her confidence. She wasn’t the type of girl who spent her time waiting around for Logan. Even when he screwed up, she didn’t take him back so easily. Girl had a list of requirements that needed to be met and they were pretty darn funny and specific!

But Logan was up for the challenge, cue the SHENANIGANS! What I like about their relationship, and this could also be applied to all the couples in this series, is that even before the two main characters became a couple, they had a friendship. Logan shared things with Grace that he’s never told anyone else. This helped to create a stronger bond between them and when everything falls into place for these two, it just felt right and I think Logan finally found a place to call home.

But my ABSOLUTE favorite part was the end. Big romantic gestures? YES PLEASE!

If you haven’t jumped onto this bandwagon, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!

I’ve already read the third book in this series and LOVED IT as well. It was nothing like I was expecting and my review will be up soon. Dean and Allie are quite the pair and their story was THE BEST so far, although Logan and Grace are still my favorite couple. Shenanigans were ON POINT for this one!

The Deal- Elle Kennedy

Synopsis via Goodreads: She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy…

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

…and it’s going to be oh so good.

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

End of book reaction- (12)2

Why didn’t I pick this book up sooner?!

I basically sound like everyone on Goodreads who is now reading this book! But seriously, I think the Off-Campus series may be a new FAVORITE!1Garrett Graham: Captain of the hockey team and BMOC, Garrett knows how to score both on and off the ice.

Hannah Wells: Music major and all around good girl, Hannah as never been one for the social crowd.

But their two worlds are about to collide after Garrett flunks his midterm and is in desperate need of a tutor. Hoping Hannah will help him ace his make-up exam, Garrett promises to help her land a date with her forever crush, Justin Kohl. What these two don’t know is that their little deal may turn into something that neither one was expecting.2This book was HILARIOUS! I seriously could not stop laughing!

I was so amused by the the banter between Garrett and Hannah. These two together were a riot! Garrett knew how to push Hannah’s button and Hannah just pushed right back.

I’m such a sucker for the ‘Enemies to Lovers’ trope and watching the relationship develop between these two was entertaining, yet at the same time I wanted to pull my hair out because they were taking FOREVER just to admit their feelings for one another. No INSTA-LOVE here! Garrett is such a sweet-talker, but Hannah is not falling for it. Once these two actually put their difference aside and see each other for who they really are, Hannah realizes that Garrett is one of the good guys and she can trust him.

The friendship were another plus for me! There was never a dull moment when Garrett and his housemates got together! Allie and Hannah’s friendship game was so strong. They were always there for each other and nothing could come between these two.

But seriously, we all know the BEST part was when Hannah walked into the locker room filled with naked guys! Cue my UNCONTROLLABLE laughter!3I think what I liked most about this book were the underlying issues that Garrett and Hannah were both dealing with: Garrett with his abusive father and Hannah with learning to let go

Garrett has basically been on his own for a while and his biggest fear is becoming like his father. Hannah reassures him that he will never be anything like his father and her confidence in him makes cutting ties with his father that much easier.

After years of therapy and overcoming her rape, Hannah still struggles with letting herself go. Even though she has been with other guys after her assault, she still struggles with being intimate with them and seeing her finally let her walls down and trusting Garrett was so sweet!

So MUCH love for these two!

I HIGHLY recommend checking out this series if you are a lover of NA and is looking for a book that will make you Laugh-Out-Loud!

I can’t WAIT to pick up The Mistake to read Logan’s story. I’m such a sucker for side character’s and he was one of my FAVES! I hope the second book is just as entertaining as the first!
