The Sims Book Tag

Hey guys!

I’ve been seeing this tag going around for some time now and even though I wasn’t tagged, I’m going to do it anyways. The original tag was created by Hayley @ Hayley in Bookland and you can see her original video HERE. I used to be a BIG TIME FAN of The Sims™ game and my addiction was so bad that I used to play during lecture classes when I was in college. I eventually stopped playing though, which is kind of a good thing in my opinion because my addiction was becoming a bit unhealthy. 😬

Let’s get started!

New Year, New Blog

Image result for new year gif

For the past few months, my blog and I have not been on the same page. It all started around the end of September when my love for blogging kind of disappeared. Every time I sat down to write a post, I would get distracted and the next thing I knew, it was two in the morning and I still hadn’t written up my post. After a few weeks of repeating the same cycle, I decided that I needed to figure out EXACTLY WHAT was causing this disconnect between me and my blog.

2016 End of Year Book Survey

Hey Guys!

The end of the year is almost here, how quickly time has flown by! I decided to do Jamie’s Annual End of Year Survey  as a fun way to wrap up my reading year for 2016 and look back at all the amazing (and not-so-amazing) books I’ve read this year. The graphics included in this post were also all made by Jamie as I am being extra lazy by not wanting to make my own.

The Beauty and the Beast Book Tag

Hey guys!

I was tagged by Melissa @ Book Nerd Momo to do the The Beauty and the Beast Book Tag. Thanks so much for the tag Melissa and you guys should go check out her blog if you haven’t done so already!

Thank the person who tagged you.
Mention the creator → Kirsty @ Kirsty and the Cat Read.
Match a book to each of the songs/characters below.

Tag as many people as you like.

Let’s get started!

1. “TALE AS OLD AS TIME” – A popular theme, trope or setting you will never get bored of reading

SECOND CHANCE ROMANCES! SECOND CHANCE ROMANCES! I will never, ever, ever get tired of this trope because it gives me so much life. My feels are always all over the place. I always sob all the tears. I don’t care if it’s predictable, I just love seeing two characters get a second chance at being together!

2. BELLE – A book your brought for it’s beautiful cover that’s just as beautiful inside too23009402

This is one of my favorite book covers ever! I have it front and center on my library just so I can see it everyday. The story inside is just as beautiful as a girl tries to deal with her brother going to jail for a DWI that killed a boy and her family falling apart. So many tears for this one.

3. BEAST – A book you didn’t expect much from but pleasantly surprised you22296542

I recently finished Addicted to You by Krista & Becca Ritchie and let me say I was not expecting to like this book as much as I did. I completely misjudged this book, damn books with half naked people because I always steer clear of those types of covers. I’m already in love with all the characters and I have my faves picks out, too! I’m going to cry all the tears when I finish this series I just know it.

4. GASTON – A book everyone loves that you don’t28869619

After two long months of putting of this review, I am finally sitting down to write my review for this book that literally everyone raved about. I haven’t been this mad while reading a book since I read FSOG and that is saying a lot.

5. LEFOU – A loyal sidekick you can’t help but love more than their counter part11235712

I really don’t care for any of the main characters in Cinder, BUT I HAVE SO MUCH LOVE FOR IKO. I love that little bot and she is the only reason why I still am going to try and an continue this series one day.

6. MRS. POTT, CHIP, LUMIER & COGSWORTH – A book that helped you through a difficult time or that taught you something valuabl22669832e

DO EPIC. That’s the basic moral of this story. Life is short so you just got to go after what you want because anything can happen in the blink of an eye.

7. “SOMETHING THERE” – A book or a series that you wasn’t into at first but picked up towards the end

I did not like the first two books in the Marked Men series. I re-read the first book a few weeks ago and I still feel the same way, but thank god I kept going because this is my ALL-TIME FAVORITE series! I love all these characters to death and the spin-off series is pretty darn close to perfection as well.

8. “BE OUR GUEST” – A fictional character you’d love to have over for dinner

It may be because The Goal releases next month, but I’ve been thinking a lot about are my boys from the Off-campus series. I’m looking at you Dean Di Laurentis. LET’S SKIP DINNER AND GO RIGHT TO DESSERT! That’s all I’m going to say about that.

Pokémon Go Book Tag

Hey guys!

I was tagged by Dee @ The Bookish Khaleesi to do the Pokémon Go Book Tag which was originally created by Aentee @ Read At Midnight. I am among those who have become obsessed with this game. I play it on my way to work, at work, while walking home…I GOTTA CATCH ‘EM ALL! So let’s combine my two obsessions, books and Pokémon, and do this tag!

Let’s get started!

Pokemon-Tag-01StartersThere are a number of books I could use for this one, but I think the series that kick-started my obsession for reading would by The Baby-Sitters Club by Ann M. Martin. I remember being in 5th grade and my teacher introduced me to this series and I ended up binge-reading all the books within a few weeks. This was such a fun series.

Pokemon-Tag02PikachuI’m jumping on board with everyone else and going with the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. These books will never get old!

Pokemon-Tag-03-ZubatI would have to go with The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. I’ve read the first book and thought that it was okay. It was a bit predictable and I couldn’t connect with the characters and I tried to start the second book but I just wasn’t interested. Maybe one day I’ll try again.

Pokemon-Tag-04-DittoThe Crossfire series by Sylvia Day is the perfect example for this one. It is a romance series that was released the same time FSOG was released and while they have many similarities, the Crossfire series is SO MUCH BETTER! OMG, Eva Tramell SLAYS and she is basically the reason why this series is so much better than FSOG.

I’ve heard such great things about The Addicted series by Krista and Becca Ritchie, but there are TEN BOOKS in this series and I have a six book limit when it comes to series before I start to get bored. I am planning to binge-read this series soon and I am hope I love this series as much as everyone else.

Pokemon-Tag06-GengarDamn, there are so many books to choose from since I spend most of my nights up late reading, but one of my most recent favorites is One Day Soon by A. Meredith Walters. I finished this book at three in the morning and I was a mess. I haven’t cried so hard over a book since I read that book.

Pokemon-Tag07-NidokingQueenAgain, there are so many to choose from for this one, but I’m going with Victor Fraust and Izabel Seyfried from the In the Company of Killers series by J.A. Redmerski. This ship is currently one the rocks and I am hoping these two patch things up and stay together. Also, please no love triangles!

Pokemon-Tag08-RapidashCan I pick A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas for this one because although that book was long, it was still a quick read for me. The only reason it took me long to read was because adulting kept getting in the way. Plus, this book is steamy as hell and that ending was crazy!

Pokemon-Tag09-EeveeThe Marked Men series by Jay Crownover. I love my bad boys and fierce gals of Denver, Colorado and I am going to cry when the spin-off series, Saints of Denver, comes to an end because then I will have to officially say goodbye to all my children. *SOBS*

Pokemon-Tag14-MagikarpThe Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. I was still new to the fantasy genre when I read this book and I binge-read the first four books in two months. It was crazy how obsessed I became with this series, but I love it dearly now.

The Red Rising series by Pierce Brown. Full disclosure, I am mainly reading this series because Pierce Brown is HAWT. I think that is a perfectly legitimate reason for wanting to read this trilogy.

Pokemon-Tag15Mew-MewTwoEvery time I visit The Strand Bookstore, I always find myself eyeing this special edition that contains all of Jane Austen’s works. This book is absolutely GORGEOUS! I’m talking leather cover, gold-painted page edges, THE WORKS! I just don’t have room to put it because it’s so big.

Pokemon-Tag10-EggAfter not being blown away by too many debut releases this year, I am not really excited for many other debuts. But one debut I am still excited for is Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall. The cover is absolutely gorgeous and the overall plot with a character that has OCD and agoraphobia sounds interesting.

Pokemon-Tag11-Lure-ModuleMy short list for auto-buy authors: Colleen Hoover, K.A. Tucker, Sarah Dessen, Jay Crownover, Sarina Bowen, Sarah J. Maas…just to name a few.

Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas! CAN IT BE SEPTEMBER ALREADY!

The Greek Mythology Book Tag

Hey guys!

I haven’t done a tag in SO LONG and I wanted to mix things up a bit. I was tagged by Cristina @ My Tiny Obsessions to do the Greek Mythology Tag.

Let’s get started!

Favorite book (choose your own category!)

Fun fact, I will never actually reveal my favorite book. I just love it too much to share with anyone else. BUT, Bittersweet is my NEW FAVORITE Contemporary Romance. I can’t wait to read the second book in this series. I’m so ready for this!

Book that drowned you in feels

MY GODDAMN FEELS were ALL OVER THE PLACE when I read I’ll Meet You There. There were so many tears, I could barely make out the words on my eReader.

Favorite book with a dark / ominous plot

One Day Soon looks like just another contemporary romance, but this book is dark. It touches upon important themes like, homelessness, death, child prostitution. This book was painfully beautiful.

Cutest fictional couple

I recently binge-read The Ivy Years series and the cutest couple out of all the couples has to be Katie and Andrew. They are total opposites, yet perfect for each other.

Series with the best world-building

Can someone transport me to the Court of Dreams please? The world building in ACOMAF is absolutely stunning and full of imagery. I wish to live among the stars!

Most beautiful cover on a 2016 release

I love how the The Star-Touched Queen looks on my bookshelf. It’s so gorgeous and I love the detailing. I can’t wait to get my hands on the accompanying novel so I can have a matching set.

Most violent book you’ve ever read

Nevernight SLAYS! The bloodshed starts right from the first chapter. It’s absolutely insane and Mia is a force to be reckoned with!

Scorching hot swoon worthy character

There are TOO MANY scorching hot scenes in Smut. Blake and Amanda definitely bring the heat and Blake’s accent…*fans self*.

Favorite Kick-Ass Heroine

My girl Shazi was kicking everyone’s ass in TRATD! She was kicking ass and taking names and never let anyone stop her from going after what she wanted.

Sequel book that redeemed its series

I was not a fan of Nuts, the first book in the Hudson Valley series, but Cream of the Crop was so much better! Natalie is such a sassy loud-mouth and really enjoyed this book because of her.

Book with the best message

Just live is such a powerful message throughout Me Before You

Book with the most relatable story

Not so much a relatable story, but Avett is such a relatable character. She’s reckless, thinks with her heart and jumps without looking and we’re kind of the same in that sense. It’s also why we both tend to find ourselves in trouble.

Favorite bookish setting

I am cheating for this one, but what better setting than on a ROAD TRIP! YESSS! I want to travel across the States, at least once, to see what this country has to offer.

2016 release you are most anticipating

Honestly, I hyperventilate every time I think about Broken Prince. Just TWO MORE WEEKS and it will be mine and I will have answers. Dammit, I’m so scared for this book.

ALL OF YOU! If you wish to do this tag, then go right ahead. I’m also being lazy because all I can think about is the fact that Steadfast by Sarina Bowen releases in less than two hours and I can’t wait to start it.
