I wanted to jump.
He made me fall.
As a celebrity, I lived in the public eye, but somewhere along the way, I’d lost myself in the spotlight.
Until he found me.
Sam Rivers was a gorgeous, tattooed stranger who saved my life with nothing more than a simple conversation.
But we were both standing on that bridge for a reason the night we met. The secrets of our pasts brought us together—and then tore us apart.
Could we find a reason to hold on as life constantly pulled us down?
Or maybe there’s only one direction to go when two people fall in love at rock bottom—up.

Levee Williams, world famous pop star, has lost herself. Night after night, she finds herself standing on a bridge as she contemplates taking her own life.Coming to her rescue is Sam Rivers, a guy with his own troubled past who also finds himself on the same bridge night after night. An instant connection sparks between the two and Levee soon finds herself falling— and not in the direction she was expecting.
The cover for this book is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I can’t stop looking at it. It was one of the reasons why I decided to pick up this book. There were also so many rave reviews about how beautiful the story was and I wanted to feel the FEELS too. Sadly, a pretty cover was all this book has going for it. I was not a fan of this book. I had a number of issues with this book and I was hoping for something deeper, but in the end, this story just fell flat.

Mental health is a major component of this book as Levee suffers from both depression and anxiety. While I wasn’t expecting things to get dark, the way mental health was dealt with in this book was not realistic. This story was TOO FLUFFY. Although Levee does seek treatment, she doesn’t really commit to it and instead looks to Sam as being the one to save her.
WHAT ABOUT SAVING YOURSELF? I was all for these two working together to overcome their issues, but that didn’t happen. Majority of the book is spent Levee trying to avoid treatment and Sam going back and forth with himself trying to figure out if being in this relationship is best given his past. Then, as the story goes on, Levee’s issues are kind of swept under the rug and instead the relationship becomes the main focus of the book. This was just so frustrating because I kept wondering if Levee really had any issues to begin with or was she just exhausted from her demands of being a pop princess. Levee herself even questions if she was ever really going to kill herself and I think the bottom line is that she was lonely and overwhelmed and was looking for a way to get out of the spotlight, not a way to end her life.

There is insta-love in this book and while I don’t mind insta-love in books, I don’t think that it should have been in this book. Sam and Levee meet on a bridge where she is contemplating taking her own life and a few days later the two are already playing house at Sam’s place. SERIOUSLY?! Majority of the book is spent with these two just hoping to find their way back in each others arms.
The pacing was also way too fast in this book. Events just happened one after the other and issues are quickly resolved and tied up with a pretty bow. I just wanted the two characters to struggle more. Everything just came so easy and that’s not how reality works!

This book is not realistic in anyway. Everything is too clean cut and effortless. While Sam and Levee do face a number of obstacles in their relationship, the way they go about tackling those issues is not realistic. Most of the time, the two just end up in bed and Sam gives into Levee’s plea’s of needing more time before seeking help. AGAIN, how is this helping anyone?
I ended up skimming the last 30% of the book and surprise, surprise, everything magically gets fixed and the two live happily ever after. Don’t get me wrong, I LIVE for happy endings, but this one came too easy for these two. We end up jumping to five years later, and again, Levee is on top of the world and dominating the music industry with her knight and shining armor by her side.
new girl i dont care dont care idc who cares
I didn’t completely hate the book. It had some funny lines and the dirty talking between these two was entertaining. One character I did end up really liking was Henry, Levee’s best friend. He was hilarious and blunt and just a good time. I will be reading the second book in this series since it is Henry’s story and I have better hopes for that one. Hopefully I don’t hate it.
If your looking for a light, fluffy, UNREALISTIC story, then you should definitely pick this one up. Otherwise, just look at the pretty cover and keep on walking.
