Welcome to Day 26 of this 30-Day Book Challenge. The challenge is simple; for each day there is a statement and you have to choose a book or series that relates to said statement. Let’s begin!
So, the only fantasy I ever read as a child was Harry Potter. The only reason I even picked up those books was because I loved the movie so much. But besides Harry Potter, I was not interested in reading other books in the fantasy genre. I kind of thought that fantasy books were “for boys” and that they could never interest me since I mostly read contemporaries. Boy was I wrong!
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas was the book that got me into reading fantasy. If you don’t know about Celaena Sardothien, here’s a quick blurb. This book follows Celaena, an assassin, who is currently a slave. One day, a Prince comes to offer her a deal: he wants her to compete in a competition where the winner will become the King’s Champion. If she wins, she will be able to earn her freedom. Celaena agrees to the deal, but when she arrives to the castle of glass, she realizes that this is more than just a competition. There are dark forces lurking in the castle, waiting…and Celaena may be their next target.
This book was pretty AWESOME. There was a bad-ass protagonist who didn’t take orders, just gave them. There was romance, which I was not expecting. I have to say, guys in fantasy novels are HOT! There was so much action and suspense, i just flew through this book and now I just LOVE fantasy and I just want to read them ALL!
That’s all for this post! Until tomorrow…
