30-Day Book Challenge: Day 19

30 Day Book Challenge (2)

Hey Guys!

TGIF!! Welcome to Day 19 of this 30-Day Book Challenge. The challenge is simple; for each day there is a statement and you have to choose a book or series that relates to said statement. Let’s begin!

Day 1 (19)

13539044

Let me first start off by saying that The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick is not on my favorites list for books, but I LOVED the movie! I have seen this movie so many times, I can’t even count it. I once watched it everyday for a week because it played everyday on ShowtimeObsessed much?

First things first, if you don’t know what this book is about, here is a quick synopsis: This book follows our main character Pat Peoples who has recently been released from mental facility. He moves back home with this parents and focuses on two things: getting fit and winning back his wife, Nikki. Along the way, he meets Tiffany. Pat believes that Tiffany can help him get Nikki back by having her pass on a letter of him apologizing in order for Nikki to take him back. Tiffany agrees, but only if Pat agrees to be her partner in a ballroom dance competition. But Tiffany does not actually help Pat in his mission to get Nikki back and he tries other ways to get her back with no success. He soon realizes that he does not need Nikki like he thought he did and instead focuses on better himself for himself and not for anyone else.

So, I did not really enjoy the The Silver Linings Playbook novel. It was a bit dry and I just didn’t connect with the characters and I only read it because I wanted to compare it to the movie. The movie on the other hand, is 1000% times better. It was HILARIOUS and they cut out all the slow parts of the book which made the plot for the movie flow better. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, go watch it and when your done, watch it again because it’s just that GOOD!
