30-Day Book Challenge: Day 12

30 Day Book Challenge (2)

Hey Guys!

TGIF! My favorite day of the week! Welcome to Day 12 of this 30-Day Book Challenge. The challenge is simple; for each day there is a statement and you have to choose a book or series that relates to said statement. Let’s begin!

Day 1 (12)

395922

My pick for this challenge in The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening by L.J. Smith. This book follows Elena Gilbert who is a senior in high school. Elena is the popular girl, she gets everything she wants, and right now she wants Stefan Salvatore, the mysterious new stranger who has arrive in town. Her usual ploys don’t work on Stefan, but she is not so quick to give up. Meanwhile, strange things are occurring in Fell’s Church. Bodies are turning up, drained of blood. Stefan fears that he may be the one attacking people, but he can’t seem to remember the attacks. Because of this, Stefan continues to push Elena away, hoping to keep her safe. But when Elena is almost attacked one night, Stefan comes to her rescue and also gives into Elena’s wishes. Elena is happy and things seem to be going great for the new couple— but then a teacher is attacked, found drained of his blood. Stefan tries to run, but Elena follows him and discovers Stefan’s secret. Has Stefan been the one attacking people and if not him, then who?

I read the first book of The Vampire Diaries WWWAAAYYY back in the day. I was in my vampire-obsessed stage and found this little book tucked away in the corner of the library. I flew through this book the first time I read it and was completely obsessed. I read the next two books right after and I thought they were great too. But a few years later, I re-read this book and I realized that I didn’t really like this book anymore. I kind of found Elena to be annoying and Stefan’s personality to be a little dry. I still liked Damon though, so yay for that I guess. I recently just got rid of my VD books. Hopefully they will find a new home…

That’s all for this post! Until tomorrow…
