Welcome to Day 10 of this 30-Day Book Challenge. The challenge is simple; for each day there is a statement and you have to choose a book or series that relates to said statement. Let’s begin!
I feel like such a cliché for choosing this book, but I can’t help it…I LOVE IT!
For this challenge, I am going with Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. Can I just say real quick that this new edition cover is BEAUTIFUL and I need to get my hands on it! This book follows Elizabeth Bennet and her four sisters as they try to find love and happiness in early 1800s society. Elizabeth believes that marriage should be about love, but her mother believes that having money and security are of more importance. Two wealthy bachelors, Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley, arrive to town and Mrs. Bennet can’t help but hope that they choose one of her daughters to marry. Throughout this book, the sisters find themselves in a number of awkward situations as they search for love in high society.
This book has such a witty cast of characters. I just adore Elizabeth and her sassy ways. She did not give into societal pressures and she just wanted to be happy. I did not like Mr. Darcy at first, it took some time to warm up to his character, but now he’s not so bad. This book was great, hilarious and I love it.
That’s all for this post! Until tomorrow…
